Matthew Breetzke is a South African right-handed wicketkeeper-batter who operates both as a top-order presence and a middle-order anchor. Internationally, he has established several significant statistical milestones in the One Day International (ODI) format. During his ODI debut against New Zealand in February 2025, he scored 150 runs, setting the outright world record for the highest individual score by a player in their maiden ODI innings. Furthermore, he became the first player in the history of ODI cricket to register fifty-plus scores in his first five consecutive innings.
